Meet The Team
Megan Smiley, LPC
Co-Founder & Therapist
My clients often come to therapy stating their lives feel chaotic and out of control. It seems that regardless of all they have tried, they can't escape from recurrent depression and major ups and downs in their mood. They often feel even the most minor event triggers intense emotional pain. They describe significant difficulty within their relationships. They report at times lashing out in anger because of feeling unheard, empty, and disconnected from their real self. They may even try to regain control of their life and emotions through self-destructive behaviors like drinking too much or hurting themself. If you can relate, I believe I can help you find a peaceful connection with yourself and others. Together we can work toward not feeling like your powerful emotions are holding you hostage, especially in your closest relationships. Therapy that is individualized and focused on your needs can help you rebuild a life that feels worth the effort of living. Change is possible. I know that it can be difficult to reach out for help especially if therapy has let you down in the past. I have seen my clients persist even when faced with the most difficult challenges. Reach out today so we can begin making changes that are right for you. Megan offers therapy virtually to clients residing in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Virginia.

There is nothing more central to our lives than our relationships. They can serve as a valuable source of happiness and satisfaction but at times even the best relationships require work to remain balanced and healthy. I have worked with individuals with a wide range of issues over 13 years but, my area of specialty is in working with couples and individuals struggling with relationship and interpersonal issues. My approach is to serve as someone you and your partner or loved one can trust to provide honest impartial feedback, provide a new perspective on your relationship challenges, and help forge a path to reconnection. In my work, I often see issues around poor communication, loss of trust, and absence of affection and intimacy trigger cycles of dissatisfaction and conflict which can be difficult to break. Yet, I often find that the fundamental feelings of love and esteem remain and with time and effort the feeling of connection and intimacy can be restored. Whether your goal is to improve communication, deepen intimacy, or reduce conflict, my goal is to help you and your partner find your way back to each other. Therapy can help by providing a safe space for honest communication, providing impartial feedback, gain understanding of the relationship dynamic and break the cycle of disconnection and conflict. Adam offers therapy virtually to clients residing in Pennsylvania, Colorado and Delaware.

The journey of life can present many challenges and transitions. I work with adult clients who often have a history of trauma with stories etched with pain and resilience. My clients often carry scars from their past, enduring experiences that haunt their daily lives. Together, we navigate the labyrinth of their emotions, seeking to mend the broken pieces. Trauma, like a shadow, looms over them, impacting their self-esteem, relationships, and overall well-being. They may experience difficulty regulating their mood which further complicates their journey, as they wrestle with the ebbs and flows of their emotional landscape. My clients often face a relentless battle within themselves. I also work with clients who are experiencing caregiver burnout. Their own needs are frequently pushed aside, causing exhaustion and emotional depletion. Through therapy, we explore coping strategies, self-compassion, and resilience. Together, we uncover their strengths, fostering a path towards healing and growth. My therapy style is warm, compassionate, and client-centered. I believe in creating a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings. I draw from various therapeutic approaches, tailoring our sessions to your unique needs. I meet you where you are in your journey and provide a safe, nurturing space where you can openly share your feelings and thoughts. I understand that life's challenges can be overwhelming, especially when dealing with trauma, mood disorders, and caregiver burnout. I'm here to listen, support, and help you heal. I am an Licensed Professional Counselor and have been working as a counselor for three years; before working as a counselor I was a teaching in Philadelphia for kindergarten and first grade. I have a lot of experience working with clients dealing with mood issues, anxiety, and trauma. For many of my clients, these three issues overlap and create the perfect storm, so to speak, causing significant issues with quality of life and relationships, among other issues. I also have worked extensively with women, and individuals who identify as LGBTQ+ and the queer community. As a woman and the member of the queer community, I share some lived experiences with these clients and work to bring that connect to the therapeutic relationship. My primary modalities are cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I work through a multi-cultural lens that acknowledges how race, sexual orientation, gender identity, culture, family of origin, and early experiences influence who we are today. I offer a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to explore and grow. Collaboration is also extremely important to me; the therapy experience is the client’s and if something doesn’t work, I work to find something that does. I work to build authentic relationships with clients by holding space and empathy, employing gentle humor, and being my genuine self. Kelly offers therapy virtually to clients in Pennsylvania.

I support adult clients who are navigating the complexities of anxiety, depression, grief, or life transitions. My clients seek a safe space to explore their feelings and develop a deeper understanding of themselves. I’m here to empower my clients to live more authentically, embrace their values, and build a meaningful life despite challenges or hardships. Aside from adults, I have also worked extensively with older adults and those facing chronic or terminal illnesses. I am committed to offering a comforting and supportive environment without judgment. I have a great appreciation for acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT); however, I also understand that individuals require modalities that best serve them. With client-therapist collaboration at the core, I pull from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), strengths-based therapy and person-centered therapy to create a mix of techniques that is individualized to each client. I recognize that seeking help is a courageous step, and it’s okay to feel uncertain about it. I want my prospective clients to know that I will do my best to help you feel at ease, and that the role I may come to play in your life is a privilege I don’t take lightly. I warmly invite you to reach out if you are looking to develop practical strategies to enhance your emotional wellbeing and create a more fulfilling life that aligns with your values at the heart of it. I see women that are looking for meaningful and not generic or superficial therapy. Life, and the world at times can feel chaotic, with painful tsunamis, coming at us. Or, a gray lull. Maybe you are struggling with painful transitions, self worth, uncertainty, isolation, negative habitual thinking/patterns, or boundaries. Or, people pleasing, loss, grief, anxiety, health issues, relationships, career, loss of purpose, or meaning. You have outgrown what came before, including changes in you. That can feel overwhelming. You want true support, authenticity, connection, insights, self acceptance, peace, change, and possibilities. In addition to utilizing traditional psychotherapy, I offer depth therapy including Jungian, contemplative psychology and neuroscience of the mind/body. These unlock a much deeper understanding of your psychological life, and unconscious. They increase deep insights self discovery, self-compassion, connection, tools, personal growth , and transformation. I'm real, contemplative, compassionate, creative, eclectic, interactive, and friendly. I look at myself as a guide on your therapeutic journey. I have over 26 years of experience both in community mental health, and private practice. I care deeply about my clients struggles, pain, stories, and well-being.
